On the upper left photo on page 2, that sure looks like a very young Dr. James Beckett

It was certainly not a good year for hair-styles and facial hair.

Leon - Thanks for sharing. Amazing, isn't it, that the nuts and bolts and common sense approach has not changed much over the years. That kind of 'providence' under-scores the importance of a patient, measured approach whether you are collecting as a hobby or as an investment.

The part I appreciated the most and can identify with the most is the gleeful wait for the postal carrier's arrival...Santa in light blue!

I feel sad for the majority of 'occupants' who view the US Mail as a necessary evil...at best. I always greet my carrier with a friendly hello and a smile...for he's there to have my sign for my latest Ty Cobb.

That was the first big card convention in St. Louis. I remember stopping at Fred Roniger's table and looking intently at 10-15 old Wrestling Exhibits. I had never seen them before and was amazed. I'm sure my eyes were popping out of my head. Fred said, "You like those? Take 'em. Their yours."

What a nice man. Thanks, Fred!

BTW, our club was called The St. Louis Cards. Get it?

I also remember going to George Lyons' table at that show. I was about half way complete on 1961-62 Fleer Basketball at the time. I found a few that I needed and George told me that they were $0.60 each. (I was thinking $0.40.) I hesitated and looked them over again. He said if you come back later they will be $1.00 each. I politely handed him the cards and left. Homie don't play dat!
