Default Joe Jackson cracker jack question.

I was curious as to what some of you guys think regarding this card on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1915-Cracker...item53e9a4bdb8

It looks like a really nice card, but I have never followed any of these AUTH graded vintage cards, and I am looking for opinions from some familiar with these types of grades. The card looks outstanding, so why hasnt it sold yet, as it has been listed a long time? What realistically should the card be valued at?? Thanks, Chris

If it's unaltered, i don't understand why it did not get a numerical grade.

Probably did not meet SGC's minimum size for width.

It was sold a couple months back by PWCC for $10k. He claimed that SGC said it wasn't altered, but was cut differently from the cracker jack company.

So as pre-war collectors, do you guys view this as a "stay away" from card b/c of the questionable grading?

I would certainly stay away from it for anything close to the price. Isn't a psa 7 worth around $25k?

What do you value it at, as I am pretty ignorant when it comes to these modified grades? What actual grade would it be comparable to?

Exactly. For 25k you should get a pretty nice, unaltered card jj. Its been for sale for some time. I think that cjs get a little slack when it comes to a nice looking card that has been trimmed in regards to price. Not sure whats its worth but its not 25k. A real nice sgc 40 just sold for $10,100 on fleabay.

Yeah, now that I see that, it was kind of a stupid question. I can't recall this auction on Ebay from PWCC a couple months ago, as I thought this has been up a little while.

Yeah, I got outbid on that. I guess next time I should bid higher than 9k and change, although when I was reviewing VCP, I though I would have a chance. It was a nice one!

I suspect they would also use this grade for a card cut from a sheet. Not saying this one is, but I suspect that might be what they would label such a card.

Cheers,
Blair
