Default Show A Non-Sport Autograph

I know this is primarily a sports sub-forum, but as much as I love sports I'd like to see some other sides of the autograph realm. Let's see some non-sports autographs from the Board.

Here's my Houdini letter from 1926. I especially like this letter because, as a writer, I can't help but appreciate how excited Houdini was about the new Colliers. I also love the flair in his signature. Seems like he was in a good mood that day:

Got this unsigned back in 1997 and took me over 15 years, much $$ and traveled to 2 continents to complete. Have picture of Ford signing and has been signed by every cast and crew on poster, except a screenwriter who died before movie came out, plus James Earl Jones, Ian McDiarmid and Jeremy Bulloch. Probably the nicest overall piece in my collection. That being said, doesn't fit in with everything else I own, and probably would sell for right price.

I don't keep many autographs other than my rock book. Here are a few that are important to me.

Dedication of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Libary. Is was built next to my college and I watched the construction from the science library. I got press credentials for the dedication and took these two photos. I printed both photos in the darkroom (8x10). The first one I also drymounted to a mat board and cut the mat and framed it. The second one is unframed.

Nathaniel Hawthorne - I got the signature and engraving separately. I built the frame and matted it. Mat is actually double mat burgundy over black. Frame is a nice solid wood frame in gold about an inch deep. It hangs on our entryway wall next to my wife's Renoir engraving.

Of all the Einstein pieces in my collection, this is my favorite--a very important letter to James Coleman, author of Relativity for the Layman, in which Einstein presents his thought on how to properly explain Relativity to a lay audience. His conclusion? "Now you may have doubts that this is too much for the possible understanding of the reader... One can indeed have doubts whether a popular exposition of the essentials is possible at all."

I'll go strictly with sigs I collected:

I once met a Rutle and had the memento made into a custom 'exhibit' card:

Heeeeerrrrre's Johnny [Carson, for you youths]: met him at an Academy Awards rehearsal:

Ditto these:

Ray Bolger [Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz]:

Gene Hackman:

Ricardo Montalban:

Cheech and Chong:

I got this one of Bill Scott [the voice of Bullwinkle and many other cartoon characters] at an ASIFA event in Los Angeles:

And finally, schwinngg!
