Default February Pickups

Just arrived this morning.

Thank you to whoever, years ago, ripped the edge of this M110 so I could be able to afford it today. Been wanting one of these for a long, long time!

Really sweet Wagner there! This one arrived this morning as well. Has a tear with some tape but it didn't break the bank, I'm really liking this card....

This card went with the annual pass to the Polo Grounds in 1910.

Nice, Dave. I am fairly sure I have a magazine article from that period, with a copy of the original photo for this card. If so, I'll scan and post here.

We used to call those "rat chews." I had some in a signed Marquard years ago.

Very nice Scott! Sorry I bid you up as much as I did. That would have been a very nice upgrade from my current one (at about the same cost)!! I figured it would either be you or one of the Jeff's that took me down.

Very, VERY nice S Covaleski "rookie".

Beautiful cards everyone.

Very happy with this card from LOTG auctions because:

1) It is my first E98
2) It has my favorite E98 background - I'm a sucker for the bright colors on old cards
3) Walsh is laughing on it - cards that have players smiling/laughing make me smile too
4) It is from the Rudy Strejc collection - a little extra history attached to a card never hurt anyone

Default Oh

My first Japanese card.. quite a jump for me, but a perk of being a "Wandering Drifter". The seller was great and even included a book on Japanese baseball cards/history with the card. A new collecting interest is born

Thanks. There were a couple of these Oh rookies listed on eBay recently, but as I learned maybe only about 50 or so in existance. Both went unsold. I contacted the sellers, agreed on a deal with one of them, and in the meantime learned a lot about Japanese cards through email back and forth with both of them. Couldn't be happier with the card, and with the pleasent exchanges that came with it.

I've had had to cut myself off for this month (January over-indulgence), but I got this one in just under the wire on the 31st and it arrived today. I love these things. The illustrations are great and the advice is sound...."Never slide headfirst. Too much chance of you getting hurt and your team losing a valuable man."
