Default 1915 Cracker Jacks - help requested pls

Hi,

Im looking for some advice pls. I stick to memorabilia collecting for the most part but have always liked the Cracker Jack sets and wanted to ask if these looked legit.

If so, may ask what a fair value might be based on the rather rough conditions? Thanks!

Ive owned a couple of these cards in the past and just from your photo's my guess in no. The printing looks too bold and the red coloring doesnt seem right but the only way to know for sure is to get them graded. I do know that the white border of the card should match any white coloring that may be in the photo of the player.

Default My guess

After looking at the cards, they both appear fake, in my opinion.

Colors are washed out and the bright white borders are good indicators that they are reprints. Also, the font doesn't look right either by their names either.

I hope this helps,

Tony

Unfortunately I'd have to agree with the prior two posters.

Cracker Jack cards tend to be very thin....more so than standard tobacco cards. Just from the layers of paper loss on the corners, I'd find it hard to imagine that they could be real.

Best,
Scott

Default Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the quick responses. They aren't my cards but I was considering buying them. Not anymore! I don't believe the seller knew that they are reprints.

Not to pile on, but I don't believe those are authentic either.

These are 1915, you can tell by the copy on the back saying 176 subjects, '14's say 144. '15's also have an offer for the entire set and an album, '14's do not.
'15's have the back printed upside down, for pasting in the album. These have the backs printed right side up, as evidenced by the crease pattern. Definitely fakes.
'15's are printed on thin paper, although a bit thicker than '14's. Definitely not anything resembling card stock.
