Default "Hitching a Ride" to Cleveland National....anyone ?

Posted By: Pennsylvania Ted

TRIVIA....."Hitching a Ride" was a popular song in what year and by what group ?

Anyone driving to the National from Pennsy, Jersey, or New York that would like someone to ride "shotgun"
with them, and also help with driving and trip expenses and lots of BB hobby conversation ?

Ted - I might still fly, but it's cheaper to drive. I'm saving every last penny to make it to the show. After hotel, gas, food, parking, admission, I won't have any money to spend on cards, but what the hell. At least I'll make it there.

You are correct....Vanity Fair sang that "catchy" tune.

But, you didn't say what year ?

Oops. That part I'm not so confident about. Was it 1969?

Regardless, I hope all of you travelin' folk have fun.

You got it David......1969

Now, this song will be haunting me all day long....I wont be able to get it out of my mind.
And, you'll appreciate this David.....it causes me to flashback to fond memories of being in Maine.

I'll fly as a last resort. My problem with flying is that I am 2 hours away from a major airport. And,
it just goes against my grain to have to drive 2 hours for what amounts to only an hour flight.

So, any of you tri-state dudes, that are driving, have an extra seat so I can hitch a ride ?

I can meet you at some convenient spot in NJ or Pennsy.

Hi Ted-
This is the plan currently. I plan on heading back to New Jersey sometime Sunday afternoon. I'm figuring it's about an 8-9 hour drive each way. Drop me an email and we can chat by phone tomorrow or Thurs.
Kind Regards,
Mark

My favorite cover of "Hitch'n a Ride" was done by Paper Lace. Does anyone know what two other songs were hits for Paper Lace?

Ted...you could pick me up if you need company for the last twenty minutes of your ride...and bring that N162 Beecher just so I can drool on it (I am assuming that it is in a toploader).
