Most of the pics from the 1st September Recent Pick-Up Thread have been expunged so I thought it would be ok to start a new one.

Here's a nice Pinkerton Wildfire Schulte with Scorecard back that I just picked up on ebay.

Are there any other notables on this 1908 Minor League Baseball Postcard?

In a trade with Toby - first time trading instead of buying, but I have to say it worked out well. I will be smiling a long time over this one.

Thanks for the nice comments.

Barry: it does indeed work. There is new backglass. I have the original, smashed into numerous pieces, but the restorer did a nice enough job that I can't tell the difference (However, no soaking or trimming ) I did have to sell/give away lots of books to free up room and cash to put it in the basement.

David: Free play for all net54ers, so be sure to drop by Vancouver the next time you're in Victoria.

Steve: those are indeed cigarette holders, but --alas-- a non-smoking house (I quit when I was 11), so it will have to be candy cigarettes.

Max

Barry

The coin operation still works, but I do have the keys so I can set it to free play.

RayB,

It's hard to believe your Nap Lajoie only received a PSA 1, I've seen worse looking cards in a PSA 2 holders.

Can you post the back of the card?

Brad

Brad. I don't have the back scan handy. It's a SC350 Factory 30. Back is a little OC but pretty clean overall. No marks, no paper loss, and no stains.
The card has light to medium creases in all four corners but great eye appeal overall. The image is unflawed. I am very happy with the card to say the least.
Thanks for the compliment.
RayB

I saw that horizontal and didn't put it on my watch list since the temptation would be too great. Awesome card, Congrats!

That T213 Donlin and horizontal T210 are great. I've never seen either.

The borders on this Bender are demolished, but I think the image still looks great:

It'd probably kill me within four drags, but I'd really like to smoke a cigarette of some 90-year old Red Cross tobacco:

I wouldn't chew it, though.

Steve -

I was just emailing Leon about this yesterday. I believe that Red Cross was possibly not issued in cigarette form, but in scrap tobacco pouches.
