Wow, that's incredible color and centering for the grade. IMO, the WWG's represent a great value. Seem to generally sell for less than the Goudey counterparts despite being more rare. Who cares if there's a little French on that back?

Thanks Steven - I was surprised it sold where it did - about 1/3 less than prior sales from past year or two of identical card!

Oh man, I was watching that Cycle 460 Matty, but knew it would be a little more than I can handle at the moment. That is a beautiful card, congrats! Still ended up splurging a bit on this through PWCC, though was happy with the price.

I'm sure this should go somewhere else, but it's my first post-war card and I only ever post here. Got this at the WSSCA show in Seattle over the weekend.

Nice Red Keeler! I picked up one of the pink ones myself, along with an E101 Tinker, both from PWCC.

Last month, I decided to start putting together an E-card collection, just focusing on the E90-1/92/101/102/105/106 family. Here's what I've picked up so far, it's been a lot of fun -

Gotta love these 6's and 7's on the value scale compared to the higher grades!

Loving the pricing on many 6's and 7's right now compared to the insane prices of 8', 9's and 10's. Get em while they're hot gentlemen!

Obviously my first Fleischmanns, and in each case only one graded. Prices last night on large group at Goodwin all over the map, some appeared to bd real bargains--based on past sales--but maybe not.

Brian, I had bids on all them, also. Wonder what you think of prices in general? I think I got mine at good price because each had previous sale at lower rate--but for cards without a coupon, which is key for this. So people may have compared these cards, with coupons, to much less valuable ones....

Default Goodwin pickups

I probably overpaid if I was trying to resell, but these will be in my collection for years to come.

Prices in respect to the commons had a good range. Obviously, the better common players (sounds like a contradiction in terms) got more bids. I had bids on not just Stengel, Gardner and Herzog, but also Daubert and Gowdy. The cards have a following with people willing to pay good money, including myself.

Default My very first T206, my very first pre war card

I know there is a Walter Johnson thread elsewhere but wanted to post my very first pre war (WWI for that matter) card in the pickups thread. I know I am surrounded by the best of the best when it comes to collecting vintage, but here is my first humble entry, and I am ecstatic to own it (even if I may have slightly overpaid)...Flaws and all, it oddly feels like a museum piece has suddenly entered my collection. So I guess this puts my monster number at one?

Picked up my first N300 in LOTG to go with my unofficial Jack Glasscock collection which now stands at 3 cards (OJ, Mayo, and N28).

Now I need a Gold Coin and the, best looking of them all, N162 Goodwin Champions (I know where one is, just need to pull enough money together to pull the trigger).

Nice Wags Scott! I picked up my first Wagner "card" at the last LOTG auction. I already have an M101-2 Supplement and team composite postcard but don't really count them as "cards". I'm psyched. Here it is (I already posted it in the LOTG pick-up thread, but can't stop myself from posting it again ):

Default EPDGs.

Up to 190 unique EPDGs. 10 more to reach my initial goal. Can't believe I got this far.....

As always, if you got any available that I need, let me know.

Thank you, Leon. I think I'll also pick up a pair of green pants to complete the look.

Heinie Wagner (Helmar Oasis).

I normally don't purchase "art" cards but I liked the image.
