I own one, SGC 2.

There was a PSA 3 that sold in a Goodwin auction in 2012 for around $18,000.

And I know Jaime owns one, so assuming that that is a different one, that makes three. I don't know of any others.

I have seen six of them, yours Rob, Jamie's, Sean's, Mark's, Jim Bs () & the Goodwin one. Hall likely has one.

Very tough card to find.

put it in auction and see how it does... that will show you market value.

If there are only 6 or 7 examples of this it is one of the rarest cards in the set. Even Ty with Ty back has 11or 12 and Honus and Plank have quite a few cards out there. Rob

You are thinking about this wrong. The combination would be rare, but there are some combos where there are only 1 or 2 known.

There are less Ty Cobb tobacco backs than Lenox

There are less Wagner and Planks than there are Cobb red BG fronts.

It is the combo of the front and back that makes the Cobb Lenox rare, but that cross only matters to Master set or Master Cobb collectors. As well as Cobb back run collectors. Yet if someone just wants a Lenox they can find a different front. Or if someone wants a Cobb red they can just get a different back.

Andy is exactly right. There are some front/back combos that are 1 of 1. For example, I've been searching for a Gabby Street/Red Hindu, but so far it appears that there is only one known. But there are plenty of Gabbys, and a fair number of Red Hindus around. It's only the combination that is rare.
But Wagners, Planks and Cobb backs are rare in general, so that anyone who wants one would have to pay a very high price.

If the Lenox back only existed on Cobb reds, that would be an accurate comparison. But neither Cobb nor Lenox are that rare. They are only rare in that combination.

That is still a great card, though.

Can you fortunate owners of these Lennox Cobbs please post a few pictures? I would like to see the cards (plus it would be nice to have a few images in this thread for posterity).

Thanks.

Here's mine. Sorry, but I don't have a scan of just the red Cobb.

But it would be really cool if Jaime posted all his Cobbs.

I think someone is inflating values to get a consignment.

I would be as well. I'm hoping Rob is right about the price, but it seems high to me.

Easy to solve this if the guy trying to get a consignment..tell him to put reserve of $25k and you pay him no costs for anything if it doesn't sell..
