Another T206 American Beauty Question

Do these cards have the look of trimed cards? are the borders narrower than regular T206 cards? the reason i ask is because of tihs picture...

also, i sold 3 American Beauty cards to a member of this board that i thought were trimmed.. if they indeed were not, and i am sure this person knows this, that would not be right.

Hi Brian
It's an established fact that American Beauty's were cut tighter than normal T206's because there packages were smaller. This info is in almost every major price guide and is well known. I did not notice that you listed the cards as trimmed in your description, and it would not have mattered to me due to condition. I paid 20 dollars a piece for 3 Ab's in POOR condition which is 2 times the listed price because I'm trying to build a set containing nothing but the tougher backs.
It's funny that you would post on the board before contacting me and asking questions, but I guess that's what happens these days. Your welcome to have the cards back at what I paid for them if you want, because I'm sure I can find others, but I will not allow anyone to question my character because they believe they made a bad deal.

Brian, this is nothing against you.. i blame myself for not knowing with the first listing i made on eBay.. please do not take it the wrong way. The price you offered was more than fair, that is why i accepted the offer.. if i came off bad, i am sorry

i learned a lesson.. i need o get one of these books.. what would you recomend as good reference material for the T206 set?

i was just asking a question.. i did not want to say you did anything wrong.. i never mentioned your name..

I will say that i just need to learn more about the set.. i honestly thought they were trimmed and i think you knew that is what i thought.. i did not save any of the emailes, but i do remember you making the offer for poor condition trimmed cards.. and the auctions did say i thought they were trimmed.

Now your putting words in my mouth. I saved copies of all 3 emails, and the words trimmed were never mentioned. In fact you said you "weren't sure what to sell the AB'S for, so make me an offer". I did, you agreed, and now you are implying that I knew you thought they were trimmmed, and that I somehow took advantage of you. What a crock! I'm normally a very laid back guy, but this type of BS really ticks me off.
I'm going to read my kids a bedtime story, so that I won't be tempted to write more and raise my blood pressure. be well Brian

If I understand this correctly, some graded poor American Beauty backs were sold for $20 each which, depending on the card, is not too bad a deal for the seller. Now, because the seller was evidently unaware of the well-publicized fact that ABs are narrower than other T206s, he seems to think that the transaction was "not right" and feel taken advantage of. Am I right so far?

I would think that the first lesson of selling something is to have some basic clue regarding the value of your merchandise. If you don't, that's teh seller's fault, not the buyer's. Second, I think that a deal's a deal unless one of the parties engages in some sort of deception. Then all bets are off. Last, I'm trying to figure out what the issue is. The seller presumably was paid more than the cards were worth, the buyer was happy to get them for set collecting purposes, a lesson was (hopefully) learned, and best as I can tell, no one lost anything in the transaction. In fact, there appears to have been a net gain for all involved. Am I missing something? What's the beef?
