I am a huge Mickey Mantle fan and was offered what was purported to be a game used cap that was given to Tom Tresh the signature has been authenticated already I have 2 questions.

1. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with Tom Tresh to verify this

2. Do you think the hat is an authentic cap worn by Mickey.

I appreciate any help on this matter.

You might wish to try the website www.gameuseduniverse.com It has a chatboard similar to here, except is used by game used collectors. They're more likely to know about game used hats.

As with autographs and baseball cards, there is a lot of trickery and fakery in game used, so it always is best to be careful and skeptical.

From my point of view, I would want to know who is offering you the hat. There are a number of reputable and knowledgeable game used dealers and collectors. If one of these was the seller, that would be significant info.

I agree with you in that I also would want, if not require, some documentation or proof of said Tresh provenance and Mantle story.

Neat hat....in the future please put memorabilia on the other side of this forum where it goes. This is the "card" side and we do have a memorabilia side....all you have to do is click on the icon at the top of the front page...thanks a lot
