$2.5m Baseball Collection Donated to Parkhurst Field Foundation
You all enjoyed the last antiques roadshow episode I shared so I thought I would share another one that seemingly went unnoticed. Only has 60 views in 4 days? Staggering collection of items, I don't collect balls but that's as good of a signed ball collection as I've ever seen.
Enjoy, https://youtu.be/vD8VQYOIxNs

A few Highlights.
Wouldn't the Jackson Alone Sell for several million? And the Gibson on the sweet spot could easily set a record as well. If everything checks out the evaluation seems far too low.

Wow for the quantity and quality of the collection.
I would think if they are all Legite then the value of the collection should be higher. I would love to see the autographs of Jackson and Gibson be authenticated But great video and thanks for sharing

I hope I'm wrong, but the fact that the Mathewson looks to be signed last Tuesday doesn't bode well. Also: What are the odds that every autograph on the '27 Yankees ball doesn't show any sign of fading over 95 years?

There was a supposed autograph on a picture that sold for 1.47 million. I hear the story goes he could sign his name. He just hated to because he thought his handwriting was terrible, and was embarrassed because of it. I am skeptical along with the rest of you so far.

Joe could barely sign as far as I know and he had to practice before signing official documents. That ball, which would have been handed to him on the spot, would be the nicest sig of him I've ever seen...so the red flags on that alone are at full mast. Same with several others.

As others have said alot of those look questionable. But what's interesting is the guy is holding a book with Heritage Auction Appraisal of the items. I know it's only appraisals but do they not make sure the stuff at least has a chance of being legit.

I’m no autograph expert but I wonder about some of those 19th century pitcher autographs on the sweet spots of new appearing baseballs.

Joe Jackson was/is a pretty amazing person. Since his death it appears that his handwriting has improved.

And here I thought that the card world was full of pitfalls. I can hardly id my own signature on a Wed that I did 2 days earlier but lots of things that appear to be hugely problematic in that collection.

Also, Wajo died in '46 and that auto is clearly ballpoint pen which didn't become prevalent until around that time if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure Hank (Hi Hank!) would know if he sees it.

Great Jay !!! Looks like a lot of Coach's Corner or similiar. I got burned by them years ago before I knew better. Wonder how many would be graded authentic ?

It is entirely possible not a single signature is good. I stopped looking closely when the key autos looked bad.

I agree. If what the guys saying about his dad’s collection in the video is true he got taken for a very large sum. At least the programs are legit. What is everybody’s opinions on the cut autos in the case? They looked good to me but who knows at this point.
