Default 2011 Standard Catalog

I see that the 2011 Book/doorstop is now available. In recent years, I have been cutting the book apart and throwing away the hundreds of pages of modern junk so as to avoid a hernia from lifting it. Any one else chop up the book? Is there an alternative?

I usually take my new book intact to Kinkos and let them slice the binding off and replace both halves with a nice spiral binder. I will give the "new stuff" part of the book to a collector who can really use it.

Costs about $7

Good idea. A spiral binder would be great. Mine is just held together with duct tape. Great thing is you can slice off about 1200 to 1300 pages.

I read that they did away with the cd this year. That was the best part! I could slap it in my computer and have it open while checking out cards I was interested in online.

And in talking with Bob, it seems they also cut out all the Jay Publishing photo pack listings a year or so ago. I know they are not big sellers, but the checklist of photos and variations was a great source of information.

I still think they should put out 2 books, pre 70 and post 70. And maybe even offer a cd with EVERYTHING on it. I would gladly pay for just a cd.

I don't buy the catalog every year. I still use the 2006 book and 2008 on cd.
