Default M116 Wood - Which do you prefer

Let's say the values are exactly the same. Which do you prefer, the PSA 7 or the one in the row of 4, on the far right? (It resides in an SGC60 holder now.)

This is purely aesthetically speaking? (I was thinking of maybe upgrading....)

I voted for the PSA 7. My untrained eyes are telling me the corners look a little sharper

No doubt, 100% for sure, the corners are sharper on the 7. The only question I am trying to ask is which each member visually prefers. There is no debate both are probably graded correctly and are nice looking cards. Just soliciting opinions, it's not life or death ....

The corners are sharper on the PSA graded card, but I'm not sure what is going on in the lower right border. Is that a chip, or just a something in/on the holder?

If the imperfection is on the card I would stick with the ungraded card.

Both look very nice to me.

Best regards,

Joe

it'd be better for analysis if the scans were the same size. based on what you have given us...I prefer the psa 7...the colors appear more vivid...and the overall card is more appealing...to me!

I don't care much about corners on 100 year-old cards, so my opinion might not be relevant to you. I prefer the SGC example for the reason Joe mentioned, and it seems that the colors are a bit deeper/smoother.

They look about the same to me, so no real reason to "upgrade". Both are very nice cards - I'd be happy to own either one.

The PSA 7 looks a tad sharper and has a bit more pop but that may be due to the difference in scan quality. I would be delighted with either one - both are beautiful exemplars of a highly sought after card.

They are both nice cards, assuming the backs are equally clean I'd save my money and upgrade the black printed back Moran!

I think I prefer the SGC 60. The possible chip on the lower right of the PSA card knocks it down for me. The PSA card also looks like it has a faint stain in the middle of the right side. The color on the SGC might be slightly inferior, but it is still really good and the card is clean with solid edges.

For an investment scenario, PSA 7.

For a collector scenario, the SGC graded card.

Okay Leon... I think Everyone's Opinion So Far, All hold True to themselves! And just to add, If You were to tell me that the Company(SGC) has a "Written Guarantee" for life... Well Than, the Choice is Easy for me! I Like Consistency, Integrity & Honor!

The Closer I Look at Each Example... The More I Like the SGC 60! If that is a Chip, As Bryan So Keenly Pointed Out! Than the "PSA 7, Isn't a 7!"

However, David's Example has Totally Ruined my Focus...
So, I'm Now Thinkin'... It might be in Your Best Interest to See What David'll take fir that Masterpiece!

The SGC 60 has better centering; on the PSA 7 the right border is wider than the left. But because I feel cards with huge borders are desirable, and due to the sharper corners, I lean a little more towards the PSA 7. Kind of close to call, however.

I just don't see enough of an upgrade to spend the extra money. So I would take the SGC example. Both are great cards.

Why do they label Woods' cards Smoky Joe but they won't label Jackson's cards Shoeless Joe??
