Default Competition- Guess What This Cobb T205 Goes For

Sadly, I'm sure this hits triple digits. Will say $160.

I haven't seen many fakes with the offset effect and gold border that convincing. I do think it is trimmed or altered but I actually think authentic even there are a ton of bad fakes listed by them.

On second thought.... prob fake.

I thought it may be real at first too but noticed some of the notorious artificial aging on the back of the card. He did a good job by not going completely overboard on it though. Who knows could be real but I really doubt it.

I know, it's got a lot of real card qualities on the front, but the back looks wrong. I guess it could be real, but like you, I doubt it.

The polar bear back has tell tale staining and what appears to be glue marks from scrap book. It's a very good fake, I don't get why the other fakes they have are so bad. Still on the fence.

Front is very convincing, but the back looks off. I vote no good.

Fake. Artificial aging on reverse. Good attempt, though.

You cannot fake a T205 front no matter how hard you try. The Front is 100% real. The offset printing, the gold boarder with the chipping, the printing dot matrix, and overall color. The card is more than likely rebacked and then trimmed.

In the last 10 years I have seen the same large group of skinned T205's exchange hands a few times. Every time it does there are a few cards that get dressed up or try to be passed off as blank backs. Be careful guys!

I cannot discern the dot matrix from the images - maybe the scan quality or maybe MY eyes, but I would avoid it, too!

Fun to watch tho!?!?!?!

I can attest to the whereabouts of 100 or so skins I got in a large lot from Marc D. Through a lot of work I was able to put together a front set which I enjoy a lot.

Those might be the ones D!ck Tow!e saved and introduced to the hobby back in 08-09? If I remember they were some nice cards!
