Default PSA 10 T206 in Goodwin

How is that possibly a "10"? Front centering 60/40 at BEST and the back is nearly off the card 100/0. I don't care what PSA's "Oh the rest of the card is so beautiful that we felt it was worthy of a 10" line is, there is no way it makes up for that centering... am I wrong?

I saw the card in person and felt the same way. The corners and color are perfect, but I thought the centering should knock it down to 9. I don't know what the criteria are.

i think a 10 should mean "there is nothing that can be done to this card to make it any nicer".

so if the card can be centered nicer, it shouldn't be a 10. 10=perfect

i guess i should speak up here...the card was mine up until a few weeks ago, the person i sold it to, decided to "flip" it right away, to each, his own...it is true that the color, clarity and corners are second to none, i guess PSA felt that those attributes alone made it a 10...we'll see how it does in autcion, if it is relatively low on the last day, heck, who knows, i might get it back again, we'll see...it was cool owning a "10"...bill is a great guy, and i wish him the best for his auction...

wow!!! this is taken from psa website....i put the "9" as well because when i saw the PSA 9 t213 ty cobb, i thought it might of been trimmed...check out the bottom left corner.

GEM-MT 10: Gem Mint.

A PSA Gem Mint 10 card is a virtually perfect card. Attributes include four perfectly sharp corners, sharp focus and full original gloss. A PSA Gem Mint 10 card must be free of staining of any kind, but an allowance may be made for a slight printing imperfection, if it doesn't impair the overall appeal of the card. The image must be centered on the card within a tolerance not to exceed approximately 55/45 to 60/40 percent on the front, and 75/25 percent on the reverse.
MINT 9: Mint.

A PSA Mint 9 is a superb condition card that exhibits only one of the following minor flaws: a very slight wax stain on reverse, a minor printing imperfection or slightly off-white borders. Centering must be approximately 60/40 to 65/35 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse.

that card looks short and narrow.

With that t206 being a 10, there are going to be people buying that slab for their registry set and could care less if that card is torn in half and missing the upper right corner. They just want that flip that says t206 "10".

The back is too off centered to justify a 10. And Jay if that statement of yours it true, thats really sad.

T213-3's are smaller than t206's. The Cobb looks fine to me. If anything, it has more border showing than many t213-3's that I've seen. regards

the goodwin psa 10,ty cobb t-213 in psa 9,and the black star campos. What do you think they are worth? i think the psa 10 is too off center to justify a 10(imo). signed greg

Just how rare is that card? Been a couple offered in high grade in recent auctions and have seen a couple in mid grade on eBay. Any thoughts?

the campos black star is very rare; a lower grade 6 on bmw ebay website is going for 20k. this is an 8. i would never buy the card because i am into vintage. i don't know the desirability of this card on the market either. signed greg

I think there are still quite a few collectors who don't track the Campos card -- and it is likely there are a handful of set collectors who may inadvertently already have them in their sets and not know it...

Is Rare but 20k for a 6 is absurd. Levi had an 8 for years for a few thousand dollars and had trouble selling it.Though It seems to be a fashionable card right now. BTW it is not the only 1952 that can be found with different color stars. The other I know of is far tougher to find than Campos IMHO.

Peter, it's a PSA 10 -- what would you expect the corners to look like?

as most of you know, i owned this 10 with a close friend of mine up until recently, and just sold it to the goodwin consignor. yes, it is without a doubt off-center, BUT i think, from what i have heard, PSA was not as strict on the backs early on, it has only been in recent years that they have really tuffened-up on the back centering standards...so we are left with an off-center 10, i do have to say, and i think others who have seen it in person will agree (barry, jeff, joe d, etc) that the colors, clarity and corners are outstanding.
