Default Three Plead Guilty

I am posting this on both sides of our board. This is great news. Chalk one up for the good guys and kudos to law enforcement. Thanks to Rob L. for sending the story this morning too.

Interesting quote from the article:

Plea agreements filed in federal court on Monday say Gernay, Horne and Oldridge have agreed to provide information to investigators and testify in civil or criminal proceedings – which may mean that the dealers will be used by federal prosecutors as witnesses in cases against other memorabilia industry executives.

So the $64,000 question is, "Which executives"?

Stories like these are the reasons why I stay firmly away from memorabilia.

That, and the fact that you can almost never be certain if an item is real or not, regardless of the 'provenance'. People forget stuff, get confused....lie?

"which may mean that the dealers will be used by federal prosecutors as witnesses in cases against other memorabilia industry executives."

Guess there are some nervous memorabilia industry "executives" around the country.

What's going to happen when people start lining up for refunds? How are those clowns going to handle that? Bankruptcy.... I can see it already...

Maximum of 20 years? Let's see what happens. If they get reduced sentences then I hope a part of their probation would not allow them to deal in ANY sports memorbilia in the future. Do you think that the feds will be smart enough to include a clause like that?
