T-206 Double Print Error Card

I picked this up in a local shop and wanted to get some more information about it.

Card is Jeff Sweeny 350 Piedmont Factory 25 back with a back over print on the front.



So my question is how rare is something like this?

What should it bring?

Will SGC mark it is a double print or something like that on the flip?

Card is clean with a slight diamond cut and some minor corner wear.

That's actually a wet sheet transfer, where a sheet of cards was lain on top of another sheet and the ink was still wet so it transferred onto the fronts of the other cards.

They show up pretty frequently, but they're not normally as dark and defined as this one. It may very well carry a small premium, but I wouldn't expect much more than 1.5x

I've also seen them with a different tobacco brand transferred on the front (Piedmont back with Sweet Cap front, for example) - still not selling for much more than normal though.

Yours is neat looking though.

Trae is correct (wet sheet transfer)

SGC will not give a special qualifier, but they will slab it and probably provide a number grade.

Personally, I put a bit more of a premium than 1.5x...but they are not all that rare and therefore I probably overpay sometimes!

I think with cards like this, the more visual and dramatic the error, the greater the premium. In this case, it is especially nice looking.
