This was the best auction for sport display antiques in quite some time and the prices realized seemed very reasonable. My Cubs pennant investment put me on the shelf for this round but I'm hopeful some of you made nice additions to your collections. Anyone have any luck?

It was a pretty impressive auction, especially in display items and old coin op games. The only thing I was able to pickup was the pair of football pencil boxes.

I am not too sure about how well the memorabilia did but the cards were a little low, to average, in general. I don't do quite as well in phone auctions so skipped it. Plus I am on a little bit of a budget and there was nothing I couldn't live without....best regards

Terrific boxes Keith. Great eye appeal. I just love old colorful memorabilia from any sport.

Thanks Mike. When I first saw them in the catalog, I was hoping they were 2 different pencil boxes. But in person, they are both the same representing Yale versus Cornell, with the one having the red in the Cornell pennant fading into an orangish color. I was hoping for a Yale v Cornell, and a Yale v. Princeton; but as a silver lining, having 2 of the same will give me a reason to part with one happy.gif

I won more than expected this time around... 5 lots total, including a very rare "Pita Pocket" style Catchers Mitt from the early teens.. Prices definitely dropped, but held pretty firm for a bad economy, I thought.

I'll now be in big time "selling mode" after winning these items...
