Default Help with Yankee Photo. What Year?

Picked up this Berra and I think Mantle photo and was trying to determine the year it was taken. It has to be before 1958 based on the United Press Association stamp on the reverse. It looks like the runner is a very young Mantle to me. Any thoughts?

I'm guessing he ran up to grab the bat so the runner doesn't trip on it.

Yee / Fogel's book has that stamp style as circa 1955 to 1957.

Hi Joe,

The photo is from 1953 and shows the Mick completing an inside the park HR. It is a Type I.

Hope this helps.

Did a cursory search and came up with a Mantle inside-the-park HR with two on in the third inning in a game against the White Sox on August 7, 1953. Berra on-deck proceeded to hit one over the fence. Pitcher was thirty-year old "rookie" Connie Johnson who had been a standout in the Negro Leagues since the age of 17.
