Default Experiment continues: Post a card for sale for exactly $1000

Yesterday, to goose along a long, hot, maybe slow for some, holiday weekend, I launched a thread inviting folks to put up for sale any card for $500. If you sell one you get to post another. Didn't know if it would fly but Leon approved and it has proven very popular and at least half a dozen or more cards have already sold.

So now: same idea for $1000 (plus shipping) cards. Again, you can only post one unless you sell that one. At that price perhaps a few more cool, obscure or big risk/big reward cards will be posted. (I suppose you can offer TWO cards for $1000 for that's the limit.) I have to decide what I will post but you can fire away now....As I noted before, this only works if you put a fair, even a slightly bargain, price on your card...

As soon as you posted the $500 thread and I saw cards moving I thought we should have one for $100, $500 and $1000. You should start one for $100 too. that will get a ton of action I bet. By the way this is a great idea and keeps people continually checking the site in my opinion. I'd start the $100 thread myself but can't post pictures well (my scan always show up tiny in size here for some reason).

Lets leave it at 2 threads for now. After these have played out a while we can think about others. But 2 (actively going) at once is enough on the front page, imo. I am almost always open to debate though. Thanks to everyone for keeping it fun....so far.

Add shipping.

One of only 2 or 3 known (no duplicates) T207 blank backs known from the "Broadleaf-class" backs. The "Recruit-class" blank backs are tough but out there, these are near impossible (there is some lightly erased pencil on back)...

Okay, finally ready to make my choice, two HOFers: Hafey, U.S. Caramel, with rare perfect centering--plus a strong version of the Goose Goslin PSA 5. Two for one grand.

Yeah. I am, and I would guess, alot of other members are $100 Tier guys. I would be active there for sure.

But I am enjoying watching these two threads. Great idea by the OP.

And, although not a player, I find myself checking out the threads 3-5 times a day. Just to see. Very enjoyable.

Please mark SOLD any cards you sold, as most did at beginning. Perhaps no one is buying now and just looking. If so, then that's good info for Leon and guide for future such threads....

I love it. Even if cards don't move it's real interesting and seeing some stuff that is awfully tempting. Can't someone post a nice Gehrig item?

"Failure" is kind of dramatic. I am not sure what success would be but if having some fun is failure, we have accomplished it. Not everything has to be forever or earthshaking.....who knows, who cares.....if we do another thread, great....if not, great too. I have enjoyed our time together.

I think it is a cool idea. As many have stated: I have seen some stuff I didn't know existed.

That alone should be enough to keep this thread around. There seems to be more variety and flair here than opposed to a "pick up" thread.

$1,000 cash in small, unmarked bills or will trade for another even-year World Series Title for my Giants.... willing to consider a swap for Game 6 Stanley Cup tickets for my beloved Sharks or a cup of Philz Philtered Soul coffee.
You gonna be able to Photoshop them onto the ice at the Shark Tank for that? Cause they ain't making it back there for a game six otherwise.
