Default The mystique of the SOVEREIGN 350 "apple green" cards......Show us your green apples

Hey guys,

Just one more once (as Count Basie would say). Does anyone on this forum have (or have seen) any of these 66 cards
with 2 different names (top & bottom) ?

They don't have to be Sovereign cards....any tobacco brand will suffice (Piedmont, Sweet Cap, Old Mill, Polar Bear, etc.).
I'm offering a reward for any different names inputs regarding the 60 subjects listed below.

But, regarding the 6 Super-Prints, I am only interested in SOVEREIGN 350 cards of them.

Normal Sovereign green

Sovereign "apple green"

My hypothetical 72-card sheet (which may also have been printed in a 12 x 12 card format of 144 cards)

Here is the list of these 66 subjects displayed here on this simulated 72-card sheet............

Konetchy (glove low)
Lajoie (bat)

Leifeld (bat)
Magee (bat)
Manning (pitching)
McIntyre (Brooklyn & Chicago)
McQuillan (bat)

Note

That I show the 6 super-print cards Double-Printed (D-P) on this sheet. Several surveys over the years have consistently
indicated that these 6 super-prints were D-P relative to the other 60 subjects on this sheet.

Thanks guys,

Default Hey Ted--

Love reading this thread & soaking in all the information you present. Wish I could contribute something to your "exotic back" or "double-name" research but as you know all my cards are either early Piedmont or Sweet Cap.

Anyhow, THANKS for all the time & effort you put forth to expand our thinking on the T206 horizon.

Your Chase is the best looking T206 with a Sovereign 350 back that I have seen.

Thanks for posting it and the kind words.

Default Hi Fred

So far, there doesn't appear to be any dissimilar names on this group of 66 cards. I haven't seen any; and, none have been reported on this forum.

So, ole buddy, your complimentary words are certainly a very appreciated contribution.

Take care,

TED Z

Thanks Ted, no problem-I appreciate the kind words. This card came from a mutual friend/board member, and I'm very grateful that he was willing to part with it-and, to have it in my collection now.

Good luck on your Red Hindu Sheckard (glove) hunt!

Sincerely, Clayton

Clayton

I have these 460-only 12 subjects that I refer to as the "Exclusive 12" complete with the
following backs............

AMERICAN BEAUTY 460

PIEDMONT 460

POLAR BEAR

SOVEREIGN 460

SWEET CAPORAL 460 Factory 42

and,

11 of them with the red HINDU backs

but, the Sheckard has eluded me. There at least 4 of them somewhere out there.
