Is the Lindsay on the T212 Obak the same Bill Lindsay who played for the Naps in 1912? They don't appear to bear any resemblance.

Is there an online resource that can be used to answer questions like this and validate what minor league teams a pre-war major league player played for?

Thanks Steve! That's a great resource. I take it that from Lindsay not appearing on that list, that the Obak Lindsay is NOT the Naps Bill Lindsay.

Is there any other resource for tracing the path of a pre-war player (one who doesn't have an OBAK)?

The Obak pictures John Lindsay.

Bill Lindsay did play in the PCL though for Portland and Oakland.

Matt,

Not sure if this helps, but here is a photo of Bill Lindsay when he played for the 1910 New Orleans Pelicans... There are more of him with that team I believe.

Dan & Shawn - thanks for the information; it's a great help.

Unfortunately, this means that it seems I've got to track down either a series 8 T210 or a T211 to get him on a card instead of the T212

Why don't you just go for one of his Zeenut cards?

Oh Matt...it's not that easy

I've been searching forever for any other Lindsay than the T212; someone had a T211 a while ago, but it was a bit out of my price range.

Good luck!

Matt

A great reference for minor leaguers is the SABR database http://minors.sabrwebs.com/cgi-bin/index.php
