Default Topps Living Set

I don’t know if this has been discussed before, love the set (Topps Living) and the idea behind it but have a hard time putting my arms around spending hundreds of dollars for high grade common player cards like Markakis, Happ, Panik, Pollock, etc. I get only a limited number produced for a week, not to be reprinted, Markakis the fewest, yadda yadda .. but a grand for a Markakis PSA10? Wow! I love the interest and demand it drives but I keep wondering will that interest wane a few years from now especially for non-extraordinary players?

Curious, any of you feel differently? Anyone waiting it out to see how and where the values go?

Sidenote, the images are pretty good but the Greinke card looks like a scene from the Total Recall movie when the oxygen was being cut

Not enough time has gone by to really get a read on it. Could be a flavor of the moment and have no long term collectibility, which seems to be the trend Topps Now is headed in. There's no resale value to the Now cards yet.

As an FYI, there is a long thread on BO about some gentleman (ok scammer) printing these off and selling them as real... Buyer beware on secondary market...

I'm not a fan of the artwork itself....guess Graig has spoiled me.

Found it, thanks for the heads up. Fortunately I didn’t buy any of these or from the seller noted

I agree, so many are fawning all over these cards and I just dont like a lot of the artwork, the colors on many are not realistic and facial expressions could be better too on many imho.
