Default Variation Collectors - Pink Asterisk Variations? Real or Fake?

I saw this on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221332827651...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

PSA gave it an MK qualifier saying the asterisk was added after the fact but the seller seems pretty confident they got it wrong. Has anyone else come across a pink asterisk variation before?

Default Pink Asterisk

Joe,

I have not seen them before. But the asterisk certainly looks like it was added commercially. Just unsure if it was an artifact of the printing process or possibly a stamp. I am curious to see what others have found.

Good eyes.

Default MK

I have not seen a mark like that particular one on other 67s or other 60s cards. I have seen stamps on cards, and have seen them graded the same way. Here is one of mine. I think there is another thread here where someone posted another mark on the back of the card, it may have been a 52, and there was a lively debate among some of our printing experts about whether the mark was part of or post production

I have gone through 1000s and 1000s of 67s (as well as 1000's and 1000s from other issues of 60s) over the last 15 years or so to build a nice set and have never seen a "pink asterisk" like seen on the back of this 67. However, I do have some 59s with the same/similar stamp as Al's...these stamps are clearly a post-factory stamp..

Thanks for everyone's input, I did vaguely recall that previous thread. The stamp is probably just an identifier for someone's collection. I think I read somewhere people do similar things with paper currency.
