Default T206 Howie Camnitz PSA 10 question

Posted By: ChuckkieB

There's a T206 Howie Camnitz PSA 10 currently up for bid on Ebay. The corners are razor sharp and the centering is perfect on the front of the card. However, it looks as if the Piedmont back is slightly off center, both left/right and top/bottom. I know this might be nitpicking, but I thought that the centering had to be perfect (or 55/45 at worst) on the front AND back of a card to get a perfect grade. Isn't this the standard for all of the grading companies, or am I mistaken?

If I remember the PSA standard right, and this may also be the case for SGC, the back can be O/C and still get the highest. I know, doesn't make sense to me either if the card is supposed to be perfect.

Jay

I like to sit outside drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home I would be arrested, so I go to baseball games and fit right in.

are these SLABBING questions really relevant on this board? If you want to know PSA's grading standard, wouldn't it be easier to go to their website (www.psacard.com) or call PSA up directly? Lately half the posts seems to show SCANS of PSA slabs....

I think they are somewhat relevant but should be kept to a minimum. I agree that folks can go to the respective websites to get the grading criteria....again, my rule of thumb is to try not to censor stuff first.....regards

Leon, as Glenn mentioned, the PSA guidelines are ambiguous ( I did, indeed, check there first), and therefore I was very interested in hearing the opinions of the plethora of T206 experts on this board.

Jay, Josh, and Glen....thanks for your responses.

Quan, forgive me, but in my humble opinion, discussing the grading parameters of an extremely rare PSA 10 T206 is completely relevant on this board.

I see your points. Those are the reasons I hate to censor stuff. Ya never know what someone is thinking. Glad there could be some clarification. I have moderated (censored) more than I would have expected to lately. I hope I never have to again but will do so when it helps the collective group. I just have to use my best judgement.....take care

The card looks great, even if it is in a psa holder.

Whoever is paying $6100 for a common T206 needs their head examined.
