Thanks again for sharing, Ted. You are a great board member and it's appreciated.

These are fine looking premiums. I always wonder how the "commemorative" aspect of these later vintage sets affect their value?

One of the regular dealers at Frank & Shows (an LA show every saturday) once bragged to me (in 2008) about how he had just sold this complete set for $550. $50 each! Needless to say, it wasn't to me or there would be pictures.

Cheers,
Patrick

Just saw this thread. I just purchased a Gehrig PSA 3 for my dad. Is the Population of this card PSA graded only 8? Like 8 total? How is it that rare yet sells for so little?

No demand?

Post playing days, and these premiums aren't widely collected.

Two factors come to mind: (1) not many collectors are even aware of this set's existence; and (2) the cards of the players in the premiums set were not issued contemporaneously with these players' careers.

Happy collecting,

Larry

Love them. Not good at photos but have all but the rare Grover Cleveland Alexander. Have a dup Mickey Cochrane (PSA 3) and John McGraw (PSA 2) that I'd be happy to unload. $325 for the pair, which is less than I bought them for. Let me know.
