Default I missed something in the logic.

I received an e-mail from eBay at 8:20 p.m. entitled:

Good news. You've got another chance to win item 1921 E120 Harry Heilmann

I checked the lot and found, even in the e-mail, it sold at 12:33:52.

I need some help with the logic.

Maybe they were just trying to cheer you up with the thought that another Heilmann is bound to come up again later.

Could it be that you were the underbidder, that the winner contacted the seller and backed out of the transaction, so that the seller is now offering a 'second chance' to you?

Frank,

I would like that to be the case, but it was not. I checked eBay and this was not a second chance offering.

Maybe the seller offered you and another bidder a second chance offer and the other bidder took it? I seem to remember that is possible, when I was selling stuff.

If you didn't get the message thru ebay it's probably some kind of scam.

You didn't miss any logic; there wasn't any.
In fact, you wisely realized it's illogical nature.
Now, just run as fast, away from that email, as possible.
all the best, ole buddy
