Default Original Beckett Pricing Survey

I've been going through my run of TTS's in chronological order and found this in the January 1977 issue.

Also, if anyone has photocopies or scans of the Dec 1968 and/or January 1969 issues, I could use them to complete my run. I don;t need originals, just copies or scans for those two.

Interesting that the purpose of creating a price guide was "to curb the rampant inflation that is threatening our hobby." Price guides contributed to the ramp in values in the 80s and 90s based on the fact that barriers to entry in flipping cards were starting to be removed. Unless for some reason, he was talking about the inflation levels nationally, which were really steep.

As promised, here are the survey results, which were published in TTS.. You can see how some sets are truly scarce like the 1951 MLAS. Actually after reading about 100 issues through mid 1977 at this point (when these results are from) I cannot recall one ad or auction for a complete MLAS card. Connie Macks yes, although not too many of those. Many, many more Team cards were available back then.
