Default Old Judge Glass Lantern Slides?

I have seen a few for sale and was wondering what you all thought about these. Are they authentic and one of a kind items or did they make several of them? I'd love to hear more, thanks guys!

I seem to remember a story about these being fake, produced much later, but that's in the dim dark recesses of my memory.

I am not aware of any period pieces. I'm not sure what those things are. I'm not buying.

The fact that more of them seem to be showing up lately tells you something.

That really is a bummer - they look so stinkin' cool! I figured I'd stay away though just in case.

A lot of reproduction things look neat. As long as they are bought and sold that way then there is no issue. Many aren't bought and sold that way and that is s problem. I have no affiliation with this seller but these are neat reproductions advertised correctly.

For those who may not be aware, there are a number of surviving and authentic glass plate negatives that were used in the production of Old Judge baseball cards & cabinets. The following link provides a checklist and more.

http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=200961

As for the glass lantern slides referenced in this thread by OP, they are later creations.
