In these tough economic times, cash is king.

A great depression is just around the corner.

If you have ultra rare high grade pre WWII type cards that you
are willing to sell, we'll pay top market prices if
said items meet our standards and our needs.

Please send a list of what you have and your bottom
line asking price in confidence to

If cash is king it would seem wiser to hoard it rather than to spend it now when you can spend less to buy the same cards during the coming depression. Since this depression is just around the corner, why not wait a bit?

You have piqued my curiosity and I am going to give you an opportunity that I have never given anyone.

Make me an offer I cannot refuse.

**Do not ask me what I would take (because that is a question I will not answer).

Just show me the money, put your best foot forward, and blow me away with an offer.

Make it impossible for me to say no.

Jeff,
We have fond memories of our parents taking us to the circus as a child - memories nearly as precious to us as the memory of our first game at Yankee Stadium. Your posting of the Taddy's Clown card brings those memories rushing back to us. We vividly recall munching on peanuts as the elephants pranced about and the clowns entertained us with their antics. We are currently in late stage negotiations to buy a PSA 9.5 copy of that card which is the FINEST known in the entire world.

If you all pay "top market prices" then why should anyone send you "bottom line asking prices"?

Also, if you all pay "top market prices" then how is it possible to lose a single auction (unless all of your PCs suddenly fail at the same time)?

Brian

We do not appreciate your cynical comments.

Whilst we pay "top prices", we always leave it to the seller
to provide us with his/her asking price.

Our goal is to obtain the items we want but to maximize
our resources.

There are many opportunities to win cards at a price far below
the maximum price we are willing to pay.

In most auctions, we leave bids because we have identified several
major auction houses that enjoy, despite what they say, "running
up" bids. Regardless of what one has, one should bid responsibly.

Last year we tracked the three whales on E BAY and their bids were topped
at least 25% of the time...(and not always by one another)

In this hobby, like life itself, our rule of thumb, is TRUST NO ONE
and DOUBLE CHECK EVERYONE.

Bruce,

I hope you have a wonderful new year. May it be filled with the joy of acquiring all of the material posessions you could ever dream of. Yes, God Bless and best of luck to you and your New York Yankees as well.

Then again, as Charles Dickens wrote in some story of his which often falls on deaf ears... "God bless us, everyone"

Greg

The left hand is ordinarily trustworthy, but can you be absolutely sure it was not conspiring with your right hand while you were sleeping?

and at cross purposes at that - I doubt you're getting much sleep. If you go blind by working from both sides - you won't have to see the depression we're hearing about

Bruce,

The meat of your post is interesting, I may send you some "bottom line" prices on a few of my cards. Worst you could say is, "no thanks." And that is ok. I will then have a little more current market pricing information.

But you rock the boat with your economic predictions and your various off topic opinions - leave that stuff out.

Bruce-

You should have an email but my email has been acting up so I'll confirm here. Sent you an email about D350 James PSA 7 and Crowley's Milk Adlam PSA 5, I believe both are the highest graded of each issue within PSA anyway (last I looked). $625 for both.

Um, if I had card to sell, this would send me screaming to another buyer. Probably not the smartest thing to post when trying to get someone to deal with the Group. I'd fire whichever one of them came up with it...

Steve -

No, theoretically it is possible you could get worse than no thanks.

1) You could be left in limbo and get no reply at all after you sent scans of the cards he asked for.

2) You could get upbraided for your prices based on falling market conditions and told to revise your pricing.

3) You could agree to a deal, but after holding the card for him have him not pay.

Apparent naysayers might say that "no thanks" is the best you can do, but an optimist would say you can send prices. It is a new year after all.

Another "hypothetical" possibility:

4) You can agree to a price, send the item(s) and receive payment ... more than two weeks later.
