Default Need photo experts on deadball player

I bought a King Cole photo in most recent RMY auction. Photo was likely taken April 8, 1914 at exhibition game with Brooklyn at Ebbets Field.
Questions:
1. Photo was described as Underwood & Underwood altho not stamped as such. Can anyone shed light on numbering system on upper left?
2. The photo was described as circa 1920 print. What might be evidence of this date? Cole was already dead 4 years. Why a new print?
3. does the horizontal orientation and size at 4x5.25 suggest a contact print? Maybe just trimmed.
4. The handwriting looks vaguely familiar. Any ideas?

In any event, it is a great photo of a good, short-lived pitcher.

That solves the question re Underwood and Underwood and dates it 1913 although the print I bought last week notes 1914. Any other comments re circa 1920 at noted in the RMY description?

My best guess is whoever dated the photo felt that the paper it was printed on is the type of paper found in the 1920s. To me , More importantly is if the photo was printed from the original negative.
