Default Earliest baseball card(s)

So with the snow falling & taking off work, i began the day reasearching what the oldest baseball card(s)was. After hours of googleing i came up with the 1869 redstocking team card:

About to out an auction here but since its bin and a pretty high price i think it should be ok....

Now after a few drinks and some random ebaying, accidentily i come across 1866 streey & co cards:

So not talking about cabnets, harpers or tin types, does anyone have info on the oldest cards?

I don't think outing a Buy It Now with a prohibitive price is wrong at all. People buying in that price range will easily find it by sorting their listings by price (descending).

"Oldest Baseball Card" is sort of a subjective phrase. Kind of like the "what is his rookie card" question for many HOF'ers. The Peck and Snyder Trade card has usually been considered the first major league baseball card, but that is debatable.

This topic has been covered a number of times before on the main board here. A simple search should turn up some results....

Ken--I agree that the Grand Match tickets may have been the first baseball cards. However, any of the tickets fills the bill. The Harry and Sam Wright is my favorite of the group, but the Hammond and Crossley cards are just as deserving of the title of first baseball card.
