It's possible that the name was written on the back by the photographer, or the person who gave him the photo.

True. It would be interesting to compare the two known signatures (this one and the Roy Sanders one) to see if they are similar or totally different.

To my knowledge the photo that came through Roy Sanders was not signed, it was in the possession of his granddaughter.

So, I was able to work out a deal with Shawn to buy this picture All I can tell you is that this picture, frame, etc. is STUNNING!!! I contacted Shawn after he listed it for sale on the B/S/T and we negotiated and called each other several times and had a great time talking collectibles to Shawn. Let me tell you one thing, Shawn England is a CLASS ACT 100%!! After we spoke and the picture was listed on ebay, we agreed on a price and it arrived at my home yesterday. The clarity of this picture is AMAZING and I am glad to have it as part of my collection!!

Again, let me reiterate, it is my opinion that this is the original frame as it is waaaaaaaay old with nails holding it in and all. Also, it is my belief the frame is period, and I thought about re-framing it, but then when I cleaned the glass and put it back in, I said "NO WAY!!" I am hanging it on the wall as is.

Thanks again Shawn, for an awesome transaction, and can't wait until we speak again!

Here is a picture after I received it and cleaned the glass and frame up a bit.
