Default What would you do?

I know this is a pre-war forum, that's why I am asking this group. (Because it is a card that you wouldn't mind selling)

Two years ago I bought a Topps Series 1 Jumbo Box that I opened.

I just realized that one of the cards was not a base common but rather an SSP Variation! Not autgraphed, not serial #d, just an SSP.

The card is still in pack fresh condition (soft sleeve and Card Saver 1).

So if you were going to sell it (to buy more T206s of course!) would you first get it graded? or just try to sell it raw? There are none on ebay right now.

Three ungraded examples have sold on eBay since last February.

Nice hit, if you think it would be a 9 or 10 I'd grade it. Not sure if that would add to the price though, just assuming

Thanks,

I am leaning towards grading. I think it would get a 9. I don't think I know the difference between 9 and 10 so I wouldn't predict that.

Here is the SSP next to its Base Card.

Also here are a couple recent pickups via trade.

It's not a rookie. I wouldn't grade it. Not sure how many people putting together the set would be looking to put together a registry set.

What I mean is, I don't think the grade will tempt a buyer who isn't already interested in the raw card.

Default Check price history

Similarly to how you looked up "raw" sales on Ebay history. I would check graded sales history on Ebay, VCP and PSA database - see where the line of difference is and make an educated decision.
