Default '58 Jimmy Brown Rookie

Guys,

I've looked and looked, but I simply cannot find a near mint '58 Jimmy Brown Rookie going for anywhere near the price quoted in most price guides. What is it about this card that makes it difficult to find in near mint?

Peter,
I'm not sure if you're referring to a raw or graded nm Brown rookie, but it looks like there have been six PSA 7 Brown rookies sold on ebay since January of this year. The prices: $460, $492, $460, $455, $521 and $569. the current SMR price listed is $495.

I would think that buying this straight from a dealer would probably cost you $550-$700. Perhaps waiting for another eBay auction would be best? There are plenty of these available, but perhaps the price is slightly drifting upward.

Guy

I'm seen many of the Jimmy Brown Rookie cards in PSA 7. I'm looking for a card in that condition but raw and ungraded.
