How can buyers offer the exact same card?

Can any one explain how both sellers are selling the same serial numbered card?

While this is a pre-war forum, I figured I'd answer the question anyways. The second auction is for a card with the words "Holo-Silver" on the front, the first auction lacks these words on the front, so I imagine they are actually two different parallel's from the same set. But I could be totally wrong!?!

...on the Collector's Universe Forums, such as:
http://forums.collectors.com/categories.cfm?catid=11&zb=4282574

Seems to me that one of the following is going on:

1. One of the sellers misidentified the serial number, so they really aren't the same card;
2. The manufacturer erroneously made 2 with the same serial number;
3. One or both of the cards are fake;
4. Somebody stole someone else's scan; i.e. there really is only one card with that number

I'll leave it to you to determine which of these (or something else) explains it. In my view, one Red Sox card is one too many

Yes, Ben this is a forum for pre war baseball cards, which I collect. I read this board often.

One of the topics that is often discussed are fake/reprinted cards, scams and stolen identities.

I don't know that either of these are fake or just in error, but I thought it would be interesting to look at and get an opinion.

Thanks to those you checked it out.

If we ever have a face-to-face fight, I'll just throw those at you and watch you melt. One is slabbed a PSA-10 (for what that's worth) - I will use it to administer the final death blow.
