Default Another ebay hijacking?

It looks like another ebay seller with 100% feedback has had his i.d. hijacked. This time, the hijacker is offering a Close Candy Wagner, one day auction, pre-approval required. Sounds a lot like that Delahanty.

Doesn't this guy need the passwords in order to use all those accounts?

Not too long ago, one of the big time eBay scammers (take money, do not deliver) ended up commiting suicide in a cheap motel before his arrest by federal authorities, with his wife arrested soon after. Whether or not this is an exceptional example, I mention this to illustrate that the current crop of scammers should not expect their futures to be entirely carefree and full of good times. And, yes, I do hope that scammers are reading this post.

What's amazing is that the guy is smart enough to get people give up theri passwords, yet not smart enough to look at the account's history and match what he trying to pawn off with what the account has a history of buying and selling. It would certainly be a lot less suspicious. In this case, this guy sells new cards and KISS memorabilia. A caramel card sticks out like a sore thumb.

So you are telling me that I probably won't have him respond to my email asking for pre-approval before the auction ends Monday night?
I think what he does is email the prospective bidders after the 24 hours runs out and then asks them to make offers and wire him the money at a pre-designated address. Sounds good to me, if I get one of those emails, I know exactly where on the FBI web site to report this (if U.S.) Think this could be Jim/Toni again? I bet Greg is relieved this is not one of his cards again!

I was able to warn other potential bidders but wasn't able to contact Dave S. (cubman23) until after the fact. He bid $565 and won the card, which of course, doesn't exist at least not in the possession of the true seller nor the guy who hijacked the account. Hopefully he'll get my emails before he wires the money overseas.
By the way, if anyone sees me selling a PSA 9 T206 Cobb with green background or a PSA 8 E103 Mathewson, ask first! It's not me, unfortunately....

He just emailed me that the "seller" sent him an email saying he signed up for a 3 day auction, not one, and now won't sell it. Talk about the proverbial "stinking to high heaven."
