Just back from Cleveland. We had another great annual dinner on Thursday at The Station right near the I-X Center. Huge thanks to Pete for organizing the event and for hometowner Jason B. for finding the best spot yet.

I hope we'll have an even bigger turnout next year in Chicago and will see some new faces. For now, you'll have to be satisfied with this handsome lot:

back row: Peter Thomas, Jay, Lyman Hardeman, Scott Brockelman, Scott Gaynor, Leon Luckey

4th row: Pete Calderon, Robert Silverman, Seth Nagdeman, Elliot B.

3rd row: Chris Thomas, Jason Badovick

2nd row: Ryan Christoff, Tim Newcomb, Adam Warshaw, Wayne Justl, John E.

front row: Zack, Brett Hardeman, Bill Cornell, JC, Mark Evans, Wayne's dad

That's pretty sweet. Are all of those guys people who post on this board?
I live in the northern burbs of Chicago, and I am getting excited for next year's national here! Can't wait.

"I had a better year."
Babe Ruth, on why he got paid more than the President of the United States.

Thanks for posting the picture Bill, it is nice put faces with the people that I have gleaned invaluable information from while reading the forum. I am from Cleveland and was able to attend this as my first National with my 7 year old son and we were blown away!! I think I effectively instilled the T206 bug in him as I showed him the row of Wagners, the Cobb with Uzit back and the stories of the players. I loved seeing in person the vintage gold that I could never see anywhere else. Ty cobb's bat, uniforms of Ruth and Gehrig. N162 Anson and multiple OJs. Everyone was very nice to us both and we had great time. Thanks to all involved with the National and the forum!!!

Trying to put faces on the names of the guys who outbid me on ebay but the row aberrations leads to a little speculation in who is rows 2 and who is in row 3. Like Halleygator I'll be there for sure next year. I wonder if we need to go ahead and buy those Cubbie tickets early?

Jealousy is such an ugly word, but that is what I'm feeling as I gaze at the row-challenged board picture from the National. Scott looks his usual good self, as does Leon, JC seems to be happy over several acquisitions, and Bill Cornell appears to be sporting a California look. Wish I could have been there, but family vacation plans prevented the trip. Congrats to all who attended, and I hope all of you congratulated Tim Newcomb on his brilliant survey of T-207.

Cheers, Mike
