Default Book P/U - The Real Babe Ruth By Dan Daniel - Is This Rare?

Photobucket

This last Sunday I picked up this softbound book on Ruth in an antique store. It's copyrighted 1948...Is this a rare book? I don't recall seeing it before. I think the cover is dynamite, and it's got a ton of photos. You can see a small fraction of them in the link above. Dan Daniel was a popular sports writer who is in the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was friends with Ruth so it's bound to be slanted to show him in the best light...nevertheless as a top N.Y.C. sports writer he Daniel may have had access to a lot of photos that weren't readily available to other writers of Ruth books.

Carlton: Doesn't look to be too rare. I found four copies on Alibris. Three now - I just bought a copy. Not sure if it was ever offered as a hardcover - even the hardcovers on Alibris are merely hardbound softcovers. One of our bookophiles can weigh in. Looks to be a very cool book. I like the homer-by-homer list and I'm a sucker for pictures like the one with Babe and the crowd of kids.

Carlton and David

It's very common, softbound or hardbound.
