We start off w a RARE signed ball (w Joe Jackson on sweet spot..hehe) from the Joss Benefit game:

http://www.myccsa.com/Lot/215/1911-a...h-legends.aspx

Next, we go to 1927 for a Yankees team signed bat, authenticated by the GREAT folks at TTA:

http://www.myccsa.com/Lot/215/1927-n...ified-bat.aspx

Then, we have a LOVELY Single signed Babe, always popular
http://www.myccsa.com/Lot/215/babe-r...-baseball.aspx

Also, we have a DUAL Signed Jefferson and Washington CT w TTA authentication:

http://www.myccsa.com/Lot/215/george...ument-cut.aspx

Oh, and lot 12 is a single G Washington if you only want that..haha

Lastly, for me for now, is a signed, handwritten letter, by the WRIGHT Brothers w content on their upcoming flight. Morales the Moron authentication:

I find it hard to trust anything that's been authenticated by a random forensic examiner. We all know how well the Nicholas Byrczyk authentications hold up. HA! Who the F*** is Ted Taylor, and why would anyone care if something were authenticated by a Former Secret Service Agent?

They'd be better off claiming that something was authenticated by the manager at Lube Stop. It's a new service that they provide for an additional 10.99 while waiting for an oil change.. I also believe there was a half off coupon in last weeks newspaper.

My only question regarding all this garbage is where do they get some of the old balls they add signatures to? I know they are usually store model or junior league balls but I have seen them sell NL/AL vintage balls that they have added garbage signatures to. Seems like a shame.

I like their last line on the Jackson ball....."Wow sums up this ball".

They should have gone with...."Fake sums up this ball".

Why do I keep reading about dealers in the Pennsylvanis area getting busted but nothing about Coach's Corner and they are in PA also. Seems like the Feds are going right around these crooks.

Question on the Joss benefit ball, what kind of "special allstar stamp" would that ball have on it?

to answer one of the questions about the vintage baseballs. Part of the reason the prices go up on vintage balls at auction is that forgers are trying to acquire them for doctoring and resell. Just like the op bullpen guys used to hit yardsales buying up old books, so as to rip out the blank pages and turn them into fake cuts.

Another question on that beautiful Ruth ball that looks like it was made yesterday.

Is there some method available to test the thread and or leather to determine the age of the ball?

Default Is this CCA outfit legit?

Hi. I too saw the Joss benefit game ball that is authenticated by Chris Morales, who is employed neither by PSA or JSA.

Here is an excerpt from a posting I came across that should make us all pause before we purchase anything from Coach's Corner...

"The other authenticator used by Coach’s Corner is a gentleman by the name of Christopher Morales. Mr. Morales states on his resume that he was employed in the Department of Forensic Sciences at George Washington University, but this claim has turned out to be completely fraudulent, as has the majority of his bio

To put it a little more succinctly, I found the following quotes:

“We will never use Morales,” says Rob Lifson, president of Robert Edward Auctions. “If somebody says they have a piece they want to consign that has been authenticated by Christopher Morales, we choose not to pursue it. I’m not saying it is bad. I’m just saying it’s not a valuable use of our time.”

Lelands president Mike Heffner is even more dismissive: “I can’t tell you that I’ve ever seen anything he’s authenticated that is actually real.”

The marketplace, moreover, apparently also does not value Morales’ opinion. Autographs that Morales has authenticated routinely sells for a fraction of the price similar items authenticated by others fetch.

“A ball signed by Hall of Famer Mel Ott and authenticated by Morales, for example, sold for $2,315 in Coach’s Corner’s February auction; an Ott ball sold by Mastro Auctions in 2004 sold for more than $52,000. A Lou Gehrig autographed ball authenticated by Morales sold in Coach’s Corner for $3,100; less than half the $7,000 a similar ball fetched through Hunt Auctions.”

CCA is an organization that uses BAD authenticators, sells MANY MANY fake autographs, sports, music, politics, historical, you name it.

Plus, a lot of cards they have are graded by "oddball" or "unknown" grading services.

Not to mention, many times they put NO picture on lots or grainy, blurry photos to disguise forgeries.

Its an old story, but those of us on this board and other places don't know how they r still in business.
