Default 1880's Pocket Watch

Here is a rare item that was listed on Ebay only to have the seller end the auction early. It is very frustrating as I was the high bidder and prepared to bid a large amount of money for this beautiful and rare piece of 19th century baseball history. Congrats to any Net54 member who may have "won" this item. Feel free to post it on the January Pick-ups thread when it arrives. Thanks.

The seller listed the item seperately as BIN for $750. I guess if a seller is foolish enough to not list an item properly, in this case failing to list under sports memorabelia, they deserve to be ripped off. A quick internet search found this same pocket watch sold at REA for over $11,000.

Just send them the REA link. If they have any smarts at all they'll get the message.

I've only had a handful of offers to end an auction early, and every one turned out to be very low. You'd think people would figure out that the early offer is rarely a fair one.

If you look at the Q and A at the bottom of the page, it looks like someone pulled a quick one and got him to list it as a BIN...Awesome buy for the guy that got it. Sorry to hear that you missed out on it though.

I've had a similar thing happen to me on another site, where the seller didn't know what he had, and had a ridiculously low price of $15 listed for something that he knew nothing about....When I went to buy it, he emailed back that it must've sold because he couldn't find it.....A week later he put it back on his website for something like $750...Needless to say, I didn't have the money for it, but whoever ended up buying it still got a great deal.
