Beautiful, my friend! I strongly regret not picking up a T227 Johnson a few years ago, before this set took off a bit. The artwork is better than any non-Turkey Red T cards

Interesting. I've seen the one with just the two kids, but never with the fella in the middle. Do we know who that is?

Best research is it is HOFer Paddy (not Patsey) Duffy. Note that Wikipedia and Cyberboxing Zone both show Patsey Duffy's N29 image.

From a very kind board member for my e79 set. The Gans/Nelson is a personal favorite, referencing their classic 42 round 1906 battle

C'mon guys, we can't let the wrestling people dominate; let's see some boxing.

Did anyone get any of the Jean Donat Dupont Indiana-Sport-Avion cards the other night? I got one, with my last snipe:

For those who don't know, it is a brutally tough French set from around 1936 that includes a bunch of boxers as well as baseball, hockey, football and other sports. Also aviators and planes in this series. Anyhow, they seldom are offered for sale and I needed an Avion variation for my type card set.

How'd we get to that determination? I'd like to include it in the 11th edition.

Adam....I have a 11X14 J Wood cabinet with the same pose. It is him, you must have other photos of McCarthy as he was well known. John

John's right. The cabinet and the N692 are clearly the same guy. Glad we solved that mystery 150 years after the fact!

Default I'm not worthy

I can't believe I won this tonight. This moves into the top 10 cards I own and it was 2 hundos and the vig and shipping. I looked through the Leland's catalog over and over. About 2 hours before the close I saw this in "internet only" section. I can't believe it. So geeked...

Great card! Red Cross T219s are unbelievably tough to find so getting one of the keys is a heck of a pick-up for a collection.

The boxing stuff closed fast in Lelands last night; being in SoCal I was done with my bidding before I finished dinner. Several of my bids held and I ended up with over 2000 cards. Gonna be a hell of a sorting party!

$200 plus fees is one hell of a steal for that!
