I was going through my three volumes of Lew Lipset's Encyclopedia of Baseball Cards (still the best reference books in the hobby) recently and happened to look at the "Price Guide" that was at the end of each book. Just for giggles I will post a some of the prices. All prices listed are for an Excellent to Mint condition card for 19th century tobacco and T cards and Excellent for E cards.

T5 Pinkerton Wagner $350
T200 Premium $750
T214 T.T.T. back +$10
T204 Square Ramly $100
T205 Drum +$50
T206 Drum +$75
T206 Wagner $22,000

T208 Fireside Plank $600

It is interesting to see the wide range of appreciation between the different cards.

Another interesting thing is the relative values between cards. Then an N142 Delahanty was nearly three times an Anson in Uniform. Today the Anson might be ten times the Delahanty. Some cards have appreciated greater than others.

I bought my first 206s in '84 at a card show in Pensacola after receiving some 206s,205s,210s,203s gratis
in '82.
I remember getting Matty Dark Cap in very good condition for around 19 bucks.I also remember getting Tinker hands on knees in similar condition for
a couple of dollars less.
Yes,those were the days.

best,
barry
