Default Another dangerous scam on ebay- please read

The scumbags are at it again. The latest group has manufactured an email which looks identical to the email ebay sends to notify you that you are a successful seller of an item on ebay and to send an invoice to the buyer, etc. It is designed to fool almost everyone. The catch is that the item you "sold" is something you never listed. It is a legitimate item, a legitimate auction, a legitimate sale, you were just not the seller. If you click on the link to see what the frigging item was, it's too late. If you are curious and don't wish to immediately delete the email and go on your way, go to the ebay web site, click on the site map, and manually type in the number of the auction provided. DO NOT CLICK THE LINK!!
Sigh These idiots have absolutely nothing better to do than screw with people and try to hack their accounts. I reported it to ebay and it is being investigated, but forewarned is forearmed.

There are other variations of this scam regarding the item you just purchased. If you click on the link it will go directly to an faux ebay sign on screen that requests your user name and password. You've got to be careful these days - there'a always some A-hole wanting to scam you.

First rule of any email from eBay is to NEVER USE THE LINK. Always go the site from your bookmark and then find what you need from there.

My place is full of valuable, worthless junk.

What I ALWAYS do on Pay pal and Ebay "spoof" e-mails is to just log into the site and see if any messgaes concerning my account pop up. I have seen some pretty good ones over the years. Just don't fall victum to the DARK side. If Ebay or Paypal want to notify you they will set it up on your account when you log into their site.... JC
