Even without borders I think my e221 is nice.....

I am looking forward to the hoard coming out.

I think it will be a while before we see another group of Frederick Fotos.

No doubt, Rob.....years, years and well, currently.....as there is a 7 in the current Mile High Auction. It too is one of the premier collections in the world!!

And Dan, I didn't mean to take a jab at your very nice E221 at all. I have seen a few E221's and a few T216 VE's but I am picky on them and they have had some damage.....Nothing wrong with collecting them at all. Just look how well received AUT's are now (and they are well received according to prices I have seen). My point is that it is tougher, even still, to find some of these very difficult cards in unaltered and decent condition. I have several altered and beat cards in my collection. I love them too.

No offense taken, my MO is always that e221s are a dime a dozen and people should pass on them until a nicer one comes along in the next auction.

I once found a mini-hoard of two E221, and both were in near pristine condition. I don't think I even appreciated at the time how rare they were in that shape. Both were sold to a well known PCL collector. It was about 15 years ago.

I don't think another 1911 Zeenut Bohen will EVER be offered for sale, even the trimmed "marionette" one that Lipset sold years ago.
