Default Could there by any auction on ebay this year more stupid than this one?

http://cgi.ebay.com/1910-Eddie-Plank...item4aa59de8e4

This is unfriggingreal. A T206 Plank card. Seller says it is not a reprint, then says that on the back there is printing that the card is worth $6500 and there are only a small number of originals which still exist. It gets better. The guy has 0 feedback and the winning bidder ($500) has a feedback score of over 1000 To top it all off, the weasel seller says his great grandfather gave it to him. What a miscreant.

The seller actually may believe that it's the real deal...although he/she would be very stupid. There were several of these cards printed in the mid-80s inlcuding (if my memory serves me correctly), T206 Wagner, '33 Goudey Lajoie, others. I was in a card shop years ago when a lady brought in one of the Lajoie's and wanted to sell it. The owner informed her that it was a reprint, but the lady argued and said, "But it says it's worth $XX on the back of the card." True story.

In this one the seller states that he never bothered to have his Wagner authenticated, however he did take the time to go down to Bruce McNall's company in California so that he could hold his card side by side with McNall's card.

Default Reprint

I have to laugh, the guy thinks he has a $2.5 million dollar card, but instead of getting it graded, he'll rather keep it preserved in a 2 cent holder he bought 20 years ago.

By the way, did he include enough pictures of the card in the listing?

Tony

What ever happened to Ebay's policy of not allowing certain cards to be listed ungraded?
