Thanks to all those who donated cards to Edison E.S. in the past. Sorry to say that I no longer work there.

I have a new job with the Boys & Girls clubs of Fullerton, Ca. If anyone has cards that they don't want, would you be kind enough to donate them to my new kids?

I can provide you with a receipt to use for a tax write off or whatever.

Please send whatever you can to:

The cards I have would be '50s and '60s cards--I only have a handful later, and I don't think kids are really interested in '50s and '60s cards. I once gave a '53 Robinson (with the corner torn off) to a friend of my son's--and the next day, I saw it in a shopkeeper's window.

Have to think about this some more...
YURG!

Richard:
I have 50 or 60 '57 Topps commons leftover from building 2 sets; most look PSA 3or4-ish but tend to be notably o/c. Also have a small handful of '33 and '34 Goudeys in similar shape. Are your kids interested in cards of this ilk? If so, they are yours.

Anything will do. Would prefer 80's, 90's or current cards in bulk. Vintage cards are nice, but not necessary. Thanks.

How about all of you guys with extra pre-70's stuff send it to me, and I'll gladly donate thousands of 80's and 90's stuff on your behalf

Okay, but seriously, anyone tried to donate across the border? I contacted a few places here in Canada to try and get rid of stuff and nobody responded. I'd gladly send it State-side if there's an opportunity.

Richard.

Anything will do. Baseball, Basketball, Football, etc. 1800's-Date

We use the cards to motivate the children into doing their homework, etc. Anything vintage would be used to educate and have the children work towards a goal. Thanks

Greg:

I forwarded your email to our administrative staff. Either they'll contact you, or I will to make arrangements for pickup. Thanks.

Jeff:

Looking forward to your donation as well.

Due to Hurricane Katrina, Toys for Tots is up in the air this year. We're scrambling to find other ways to make our kids happy during the holidays. 60% of our kids are sponsored and receive full scholarship. (Their membership is free, as they are low income). I've found a lady with a vintage toy shop that has a foundation that donates to needy children at X-Mas. She has pledged donating over 1000 toys!

Your card donations are used to motivate our kids during "Power Hour" each day. (Homework Hour) Kelly from the vintage toy shop also donated 5000 non sports unwrapped packs like: Barbie, Simpsons, and other cards that our girls crave for.

Just wanted to follow up. I had the pleasure of meeting Richard earlier this week and he is doing some great work with the kids. I ended up getting about a dozen thank you letters in the mail today from some of the kids. It is apparent that the donations mean a great deal to them. These are kids who come from lower income homes and a little goes a long way.

Thanks to Richard for the pic of me. One of the few images of me I like!

Regards,

Greg

Another thanks goes to Jim (You know who you are) for his donation to our kids.

I'm trying to get clearance to post a group picture of our kids here. No guarantees, I think everyone will know why if we can't. THANKS EVERYONE for helping!

We received your box of cards today. Thank you! The kids went nuts when they saw the Sammy Sosas; Kobe Bryants; the game used bat card; and the football game used jersey card. A great batch of mixed sports cards that will motivate our kids to excel at their homework.

Getting ready for our Thankgiving dinner on Thursday where we feed over 400 needy families. Gobble, gobble.

Richard,
Is there a deadline that you need to have the cards by? Is there local (weekend) drop off dates?
(Fullerton is just over the hill from me).

Brian

Hey Richard,
We might have some cards that aren't ideal for auctioning (about 50 or so autographed pieces). I would like to speak with you about possibly handing them over to your organization. If you don't mind, call me at the office at 404.806.0273! Thanks!

Regards,

Black Sox Fan

Richard,

I don't have your email, so if you could send it to me I have something a little different that you might be interested in for the kids.
