Default Question re: 1899 Chickering Boston Beaneater cabinet

Posted By: Adam J. Baxter

This past week there was an Elmer Chickering cabinet of Jouett Meekin being offered on Ebay. I was curious to know if anyone could recall whether or not this particular Meekin was from the find of Chickering cabinets that Lipset auctioned a short time ago? If not, it's an interesting find, as it points to the possibilty that more then one set of these was produced. If I remember correctly, all of the examples in the find originally came from Meekin's estate.

it appears to be the same one, at one point roger burns had it for sale at a couple of Nationals. as far as i know each one that was in the lipset group is unique, but it's possible others exist

Default Question re: 1899 Chickering Boston Beaneater cabinet

I think it was Roger Neufelt who had them for sale and then consigned to Lew. In Average they went for about 1K a piece. The seller had a really high reserve on it. Those Antique dealers look at book price and then use some kind of multiplication system to come up with the price...
