lot 638 description
"This is a new example fresh to the market. It has languished in an "old timer's" collection for many years and we are proud to present it to a national audience for the first time."
in fact this lot appeared in mile high auction in may 2011 was purchased by a dealer and has been on ebay for the last 3 years

The online description now says that the printed version was "mis-stated" and was previously offered.

Absurd. No way this can be called a conlon. Why exactly is this a Conlon? There is nothing that is tied to conlon in any way. ZERO. The evidence actually points to the opposite.
I am so sick of these irresponsible Conlon and outlandish photo claims by auction houses.
This Gehrig IS NOT A CHARLES CONLON.

Great portrait, but most likely is not a Conlon. Lou is standing in old Comiskey Park. Why would Charles travel to Chicago to take photos of a NY player? Charles Conlon lived in New Jersey and he took most of his photos in ballparks in NY.

Not a Conlon (not even close) although a great image
